    It Must be Monday

EmergencyCrazy things generally reserve themselves for Mondays.  I was having a great day: sunshine…check; Ethan off to school…check; Emily up and played with…check; AM  chores…check; lunches, outdoor play, snacks, naps…check, check, check ,check!  It was such a great day (aside from Em’s ear issues…another story, really), I was singing songs and wondering what was wrong with me (seriously), cause I know it’s Monday.

Then it happened.  I was chasing after Ethan, pleading with him to put his pants back on (his latest craze), when I experienced a burst of excruciating, mind-blowing pain in my left foot.  Specifically, the outer three toes of said foot.  I began to scream “OUUUUUCH!!! OOOOOOOWWW!!” and Ethan proceeded to laugh hysterically like he’s never seen anything more entertaining.  (I’m sure it seemed pretty funny to a person who’s never witnessed the feat of a body launching itself across 30 feet to land on the floor in a heap.)  This didn’t improve my now in-the-dumps mood.

    Long story short:

    • foot connects with slatted side of kiddy chair at high rate of speed
    • scary looking foot
    • loads of pain
    • ER visit
    • fractured toe

Moral: kids should be allowed to run naked.
